About Your Teacher

Hello! My name is Kirsten Murphy and I am so excited to be a part of your child's learning experience. I am a 2007 graduate of the University of Kentucky. Upon graduating I took a position at Stonewall Elementary School in Fayette County Kentucky where I taught 1st grade for two years and 4th grade for three years. I have had the pleasure of teaching at Camden for the past two years in third grade; this will be my first year as a Kindergarten teacher. Recently, I completed my Master's Degree in School Counseling at Eastern Kentucky University.

I wholeheartedly believe that there is no other profession that compares to teaching. I love working with children and find it especially rewarding making an impact and connection with students and their families. Each day I strive to challenge my students, and in turn challenge myself. I am fortunate to be able to live out my passion on a daily basis through each smiling face that walks through my classroom door. To say that my students keep me driven is an understatement.

In my free time I enjoy reading, crafting, and spending time with my sweet family. Last year my husband and I welcomed our first baby, Graham. He is the joy and the light of my life.
