Congratulations to our Writer of the Month!

London

Can you believe that a Kindergarten student wrote this retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears? London Bayless is such a hard worker and detailed writer. She uses words that give readers clues as to what is happening in the beginning, middle, and end of the story. See if you can find the words ‘first’, ‘then’, ‘next’, and ‘last’. We are so proud of London and can’t wait to see what she writes next. Look out world, this is an up-and-coming author!

Lego World

We had a fantastic time with our Lego Day today! This exciting activity was earned from meeting a goal set from our Walk-A-Thon. It was great to see cooperation and creativity from everyone!

Week of 10-6-14

This week we did a lot of buddy reading! We learned the expectations and how to help a friend when they come to an unknown word. We also talked about "good fit" books. This would be a great question to ask your student over the weekend.

Take a look at our plant experiment! Some of planted our seeds near a window, some planted seeds in the cabinet, and some planted seeds under a lamp. It was the student's choice! We have been amazed to see the seeds growing in the different environments.

Week of 9-22-14

Today was a big day in Kindergarten. Today was a HUGE day in Kindergarten! Today we received our WRITER'S NOTEBOOKS and, boy, was it exciting. I have never seen so much joy in one classroom as I did today when the students unwrapped these precious gifts. Wow!
